Project Description
The Copper Mountain Solar Facility consists of 5 units. The units were built following the first unit in 2010. The output energy has been bought by companies such as Pacific Gas & Electric, Southern California Public Power Authority and Southern California Edison (SCE).
Purpose/Application
First phase of this facility, when entering the service in 2010, was the biggest solar plant in the U.S. It was an important step towards reducing use of fossil fuels as the USA is one of the biggest energy consuming countries.
Unique Aspect
It is a standard but interesting and unique example of renewable and environment friendly energy possession.
