Project Description

Utilizes the hydro energy by means of two power plants: Tehri Dam Hydro Power  Plant and Koteshwar Dam Hydro Power Plant. The next stage of the project is to construct the third unit - Tehri Pumped Storage Plant.

It is built for electricity generation.

Unique Aspect

The base of the Tehri Hydro Power Complex is Tehri Dam that is the highest in India (260.5 m) what makes it also one of the highest with respect to the world scale.
