Project Description

The Tarbela dam has been built on the Indus River. It is 470 feet high and 9,000 feet long.

 

Purpose/Application

This is largest earth-filled dam. It is considered as the largest dam by structural volume.

 

Unique Aspect

The dam wall is the most important feature as it has been built by earth and rock fill and is one of its kind. The landscape around this dam is beautiful and has a nice fishing spot nearby.
