Project Description
Szombierki Heat and Power Plant is a building complex of the former Bobrek power plant from 1920 in Bytom, entered in the register of immovable monuments of the Śląskie Voivodeship. The historic complex located in the Szombierki district.
Purpose/Application
The purpose of this installation was to provide electricity as well as central heating for community. Nowadays it will become a cultural/commercial complex.
Unique Aspect
When it was in its best time, around 1930s it employed more than 900 people. It was one of the biggest power plants in Europe back then.
