Project Description
The power plant gets its advantage from a 157 m drop in the Forsland River, and uses two Francis water turbines to turn the natural flow of the river into electricity for the nearby society.

The power plant commissioned in 2015, and generates almost 30 GWh of energy per year.

Øvre Forsland is probably one of the most beautiful power plants in the world. Because of its award-winning, stylish design, the building organically blends into surrounding landscapes and compliments the beauty of nature. It has become a popular tourist attraction in the region and shows that power production can also be accomplished in harmony with nature.
