Project Description
The Jordberga biogas plant is the largest biogas plant in Sweden. Its generation capacity is 110 GWh per year. The plant is now operated by Gasum and located in the south of Sweden.
Purpose/Application
The biogas plant is producing biogas thanks to waste products from agriculture and food industry. The process also produces a biological manure, which can be used in organic farming. The biogas can be used as a fuel, for instance, or injected in the grid.
Unique Aspect
The Jordberga biogas plant is the largest biogas plant in Sweden. It is also the first plant supplying an upgraded biogas from agriculture into the Swedish gas grid, thanks to a 19 km long pipeline.
