Project Description
Heysham Energy Station is a nuclear power plant located in Heysham, Lancashire, England, operated by EDF Energy. The site is divided into two separately manages Heysham Heysham stations 1 and 2, both of the two reactors with the advanced gas-cooled reactor (AGR) type. On October 18, 2010, the British government announced that Heysham was one of eight sites considered beneficial to future nuclear power plants.

On August 1, 2016, Heysham 2 Unit 8 broke the world record for the longest continuous operation of a nuclear generator without shutting down.
