The power station is designed to make the Island of El Hierro run completely on renewable energy.

Purpose/Application:

Electricity production.

Unique Aspect:

The island rises to a height of 1,500 m, which causes a peculiar landscape with steep hillsides permanently beaten by the wind. This Island is considered by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve, and is an example of sustainability and technological development with no damage to nature.
