Project Description
With a net capacity of approximately 430 MW the plant can supply more than 600,000 households with eco-friendly electricity. In addition to turnkey erection, Siemens supplied the main components comprising an SGT5-4000F gas turbine, an SST5-5000 steam turbine, an SGEN 5-3000W generator, and the entire electrical and I&C equipment. The natural-gas-fired power plant has a single-shaft design with the main components arranged on a single line of shafting.
Purpose/Application
Thanks to its high efficiency of over 59% and low nitrogen oxide emissions it is the country's most eco-friendly power plant. It is also characterized by high operating flexibility, short startup and fast cycling capability – features which are becoming more and more important.
Unique Aspect
Thanks to its outstanding fuel efficiency, CCGT plant in Gönyű is expected to set new standards for power generation in Hungary and help make the country's power supply even more environment and climate friendly.
Future Plans
The projected total net electricity demand is expected to be increased to between 44.7 TWh and 48.4 TWh in 2030 compared to the current (2014) 39.5 TWh.
