Project Description

Amager Bakke (Amager Hill), also known as Amager Slope or Copenhill, is a combined heat and power waste-to-energy plant in Amager, Copenhagen, which was opened in 2017. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, it has a 85 m (279 ft) tall sloped roof that doubles as a year-round artificial ski slope, hiking slope, and climbing wall, which is scheduled to open to the public in 2018.

Purpose/Application

To play a major role in Copenhagen's ambitions of being carbon neutral by 2025.
