Project Description
Alpha Ventus wind power is first Germany’s offshore wind firm, it started operating in 2010. The capacity of wind power is 60MW. Two sorts of wind turbines are operating in Alpha Ventus with two different foundation designs.
Purpose/Application
It is the first offshore wind firm in Germany to produce electricity. during 2011 and 2016 it produced 242.3 GW/h annually, which is equivalent to 4038 full load hours. And it is expected to exceed 2 terawatt-hours in 2018.
Unique Aspect
Alpha Ventus is located at 45 Km from land at the deep 30 meters. It is an offshore farm in the North Sea with a total of 12 turbines, six multibird (M5000) and six REpower (5M). Multi bird and REpower are two different suppliers, the turbines have a bit of technological different from each other. It produces 60 MW
